Join us at the Mandala Yoga Studio gallery to meet our Exhibiting Artist Natalie Gordon. We will have beer, wine, cheese and crackers!
Natalie Gordon is a mandala artist who found her artistic talents shortly before retiring from 25+ years in corporate America. Creative, from an early age, she first saw the dot mandala art form online and soon realized that, with a bit of patience and practice, she had the ability to create beauty from a blank canvas and some strategically placed dots. What was once a hobby has turned into a truly fulfilling passion.
Circles symbolize wholeness, eternity and the cycles of existence. Across many philosophies, the circle can represent the cycles of life’s renewal. As someone who values order, Natalie is drawn to the symmetry and spatial exactness of mandala designs. All pieces begin with color selection and a single center dot. Then the magic happens! She associates this artform as being very grounding, soothing and completely therapeutic.
Natalie is originally from Winthrop Harbor, IL, but lived in Pleasant Prairie for 28 years. She, and her husband, Ian, raised 3 sons and now reside in the driftless region of Wisconsin, in Mt. Hope (near the Iowa border.) Her art can also be seen at the VIVA Cooperative Art Gallery in Viroqua, WI, and Racine’s Starving Artist Fair in August.
